I chose to use Bacon because, well, BACON! Everyone loves Bacon….except for me. 🙂  I don’t mind it in small doses, but my husband loves the stuff! I chose Jarlsberg Cheese, because it is one of my favorite types of cheese and brings back memories  from my childhood; especially my Dad.

Before starting this recipe, fry up some bacon in a cast iron skillet. If you want use the bacon grease to grease the mason jars, pour a little into each mason jar.

Ham can be used in place of bacon.

What is Jarlsberg Cheese?

Jarlsberg is a mild buttery cheese that originates from Norway.

It’s a little sweet and nutty and is an overall multi-purpose cheese.

There is a similar taste to Swiss cheese. Jarlsberg has big holes too.

It is great melted on bagels and in my Pressure Cooker Macaroni and Cheese

It is a nice and melty cheese, so try some on top of, well, anything!

Put the lids on the Mason Jars and tighten just past “finger tight.”

Place all jars into the Water Bath.

Fill the Instant Pot DUO Plus, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker or any other large pot, with water.

Make sure to leave enough room for your Sous Vide Circulator, so that the water won’t go above the “Max” line.

Set Temperature to 172, Time for 60 Minutes

Once the Sous Vide Circulator comes to temperature, it will begin to count down.

A canning jar lifter is handy to remove them from the pot.

Remove the Lids and take a butter knife and loosen the Egg Bites and then pop out.

Can I Freeze Starbucks Egg Bites?

I made these yesterday and they were delicious. I froze the rest and heated them up this morning and they were horrible. Do you have any tips of what I might’ve done wrong?

I made six of these (in mason jars). I opened one of them immediately after cooking, it was so good. The rest of them, can I keep them in the fridge, unopened until the other time (later this week)? I can “warm” them in the microwave. Would that work?

I never use the steam function on my pressure cooker, just pour in a cup of water with a wire rack in place to keep the trays or jars out of the water and cook on high pressure for six minutes. (Manual pressure for IP, “Pressure” on Ninja) Once it’s done it sits for ten minutes with the warming feature on, or you can just turn the machine off and allow it to cool/depressurization for the ten minutes. I don’t know if yours comes with the rack, but Amazon has all sorts of accessories available.

Can you make these in mason jars without the circulator? Or do you need the silicone tray to do it that way?

I make them in the instant pot. Instead of putting on the lids, I cover the jars with foil. I use the steam setting for 8 minutes, then let them NPR for 10 minutes. It works perfectly!

Have you tried making these in the Instant Pot Ultra instead of using the circulator? I have not tried Sous Vide in mine yet, but it is supposed to be the next best thing to buying a circulator.

Tried this today (kinda) I borrowed other people ingredients. Anyway, must not have put one lid tight enough it’s leaking! Sigh. Ah well. Given we had our dishwasher leaking for at least 2 weeks, and now have the insurance company in with mitigators (People to try things out) and my kitchen is filled with big fans and dehumidifiers I am not going to complain. It will still taste good.

Thank you so much for this recipe!!! I make this weekly for my 15 month old twins and they can’t eat it enough. I made them this morning but I had to subsitiute sour cream for the cream cheese and I couldn’t tell the difference :). I also decided to be fancy and subsitute the butter for scallot/cilantro compund butter and it was heavenly (no meat). Thank you again!! I can’t eait to see more Sous Vide recipes!

I do virtually the same in silicone muffin liners.

Saute veggies (I like asparagus, mushrooms, and/or broccoli) and meat if you eat it (bacon, sausage, ham, chicken), plop into ungreased muffin liners, pour over beaten eggs, spoon flavor stuff over (cheese, pesto), cook 350F for 20-30 min till firm in career.
