I chose to use Bacon because, well, BACON! Everyone loves Bacon….except for me. 🙂  I don’t mind it in small doses, but my husband loves the stuff! I chose Jarlsberg Cheese, because it is one of my favorite types of cheese and brings back memories  from my childhood; especially my Dad.

What is Jarlsberg Cheese?

Jarlsberg is a mild buttery cheese that originates from Norway.

It’s a little sweet and nutty and is an overall multi-purpose cheese.

There is a similar taste to Swiss cheese. Jarlsberg has big holes too.

I too have an Instant Pot Ultra and would like to try it’s “Sous Vide” feature with the mason jars. I have tried the steam method with the silicone molds and although they were tasty, I wasn’t completely happy with the texture. How far above the jars do you fill the instant pot and do you use the trivet? Can I stack another set of mason jars on top ? Thanks!

This receipt looks delicious! I just ordered the egg bite trays. I was wondering if I could still use mason jars to cook these in my instant pot. If so, do the jars need to be immersed in water, or can they be above the water with a trivet?

I make these frequently. I typically use flavored cream cheese and switch up the meats and cheeses. I’d like to try freezing them. Do they need to be frozen in the little jars, or can they be removed and wrapped tightly.

    Thank you.

I made mine with bacon, Gruyere cheese, and green onions. Delicious. Next time I will saute some mushrooms and bell pepper. Used the egg bites mold using the link you suggested so hope you got credit for it from Amazon. Will definitely make them again. I understand I can freeze them and let them defrost and then reheat. Looking forward to making more.
