Hamburger Hamlet’s Secret Apricot Sauce

Hamburger Hamlet’s Secret Apricot Sauce is the absolute best dipping sauce for Hamburger Hamlet’s Zucchini Zircles, but most of all, for their famous Fried Chicken Wings Platter. Their Big, Deep Fried Breaded Chicken Wings with this glorious dipping sauce, was second to none.

The sauce was so good that I duplicated it myself based on my taste memory. That was many, many years ago and I lost my original recipe. However, several years ago, I did an on-line search and found the recipe ingredients for their Secret Apricot Sauce on a retired website.

Make this Sauce and then make my Air Fryer Hamburger Hamlet Fried Chicken Wings. You will think that you have died and gone to heaven!

There are only four ingredients to this heavenly Sauce. It is super delicious. I always have frozen Pineapple Juice Concentrate on hand, so it is easy to mix up a small amount. Fresh Pineapple Juice and Dole Pineapple Juice, work just as well.

Besides using this sauce on my Air Fryer Hamburger Hamlet Fried Chicken Wings and Hamburger Hamlet’s Zucchini Zircles, I use the sauce for dipping my Air Fryer Chick Fil-a Chicken Nuggets and some times in place of the Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce on my Air Fryer Chinese Take Out Sweet ‘N Sour Pork,

Pour All Ingredients into a Vitamix or Blender

For the original recipe, all ingredients, expect for the Apricot Preserves are blended. If you have a VitaMix, make sure to use a very low speed. You don’t want the Sauce to become airy.

The Apricot Preserves are then hand mixed in and the color of the Sauce remains Orange. I like a smoother sauce, so I blend it all together. I probably should not have done it for this blog post, as the color is off, because of the blending. The sauce should be just a bit darker than plain Apricot Preserves.

See, I lost the pretty orange sheen, but boy, does this Sauce taste delicious. Don’t forget to check out my recipe for Air Fryer Hamburger Hamlet Fried Chicken Wings.

If you only need a bit of the sauce, make half the recipe. We love it so much, we make the full recipe, as we also use it for dipping Air Fryer Pub Style Corned Beef Egg Rolls, Hamburger Hamlet’s Zucchini Zircles, Thịt Nướng Vietnamese BBQ Pork and much more.

Hi I tried this sauce and the mustard was so overpowering. Maybe dry mustard in Australia is something different or could it be a typo? Should it be teaspoons instead of tablespoons?

I tried the wings with great success

    Thanks

Hi Judith. The mustard amount is correct. I suppose it is possible that the mustard you used is extra strong, as there are different strengths. Jill

Does the Apricot Sauce get mustard seeds or dry ground mustard?
