This Old Gal Seasoned Salt {House Seasoning} is an all purpose seasoning. Use in any recipe calling for Lawry’s Seasoned Salt or house seasoning.
Lawry’s Seasoned Salt was created in 1938 to season prime ribs of beef served at the world-famous Lawry’s The Prime Rib restaurant, in Beverly Hills, CA. It’s a fun place to eat and we go there a couple times a year.
I love the ambiance and it reminds me of Old Hollywood. Your waiter brings over a huge silver serving station and carves the roast prime rib right at your table. Then they bring you delicious side dishes of creamed spinach, corn, mashed potatoes, the good stuff!
This Lawry’s Seasoned Salt Copycat Recipe inspired my This Old Gal Seasoned Salt recipe.
You can use either use a ground celery seed/salt mixture to equal one Tablespoon or just us a Tablespoon of celery salt.
For my recipe, I add a little extra celery seed.
We use the seasoned salt all the time and keep it right by the stove in our Alton Brown Salt Cellar.

Jill – Your Tog seasoning is the best!! Have been a fan of Lawrys for years – yours is actually better! Initially made it for your absolutely amazing potato salad recipe and now use it for so much more! Hashbrowns are Devine with this! (I use Lankato Monkfruit sugar substitute) Thank YOU for both amazing recipes!

I am curious about the nutritional information for Lawry’s Seasoning Salt. It is pretty useless if the amounts of percentages are all zero. There are some FACTS missing. This looks to be a high sodium recipe and many people including myself are trying to track their intake which is already difficult already!.

I plan on just leaving out the salt…will add a bit to whatever recipe if I want to…

But…the recipe is for “seasoned salt?”

Thank you for the recipe. I used yours for a keto friendly version made with swerve brand erythritol. My son absolutely loves Lawry’s on baked chicken thighs. I am trying it out tonight. (fingers crossed it is a close approximation).

Your link for the Trivets goes straight to the Instant Pot, as does the Instant Pot one.

Regarding the comments about those that said Lawry’s Seasoned Salt doesn’t contain MSG: Lawry’s Label states it contains tricalcium PHOSPHATES AND NATURAL FLAVORS both of which are pseudonyms (aliases) for MSG and are also neurotoxins that destroy our brain cells and trigger migraines. Many people are not informed of this fact. It’s great to have a chemical-free alternative.

Thank you, Carol. Jill

Just made this & really like it, it’s tasty stuff! I used about half the amount of sugar though. Only had smoked paprika so that’s what was used. It might be even closer to Lawry’s if it was regular paprika.

I love this stuff! I stopped buying Lawry’s because it’s really expensive at the only store near me that carries it, but this recipe is so easy and I think it’s brtter than the real thing. The only change I make is that I double the paprika because I just really love paprika.
