Is that a chocolate cheesecake in your photo. Do you cover the top or the cheese before cooking or not?

I have a large stainless bowl 90% maybe of the IP 8 qt pot. I make soup in large quantities but sometimes burns on the bottom so I was wondering do you think a foil sling would support something heavy? I thought to make it double the length and fold in half, not thirds. I can fit one finger on the side of the pot but there is not enough room to fit anything else to lift it out, it tips. Its the perfect size quality bowl and I want to invent a way to use it. I have read bad things about the silicone bands, they break often. I could ladle the soup out of the pot but too messy with the pasty split peas I use. What do you think? Thank you for your generous postings.
