Sweet and sticky Instant Pot Honey Ginger Chicken Wings with flavors from the Far East will delight even the most picky chicken wing lover.
My Honey Bourbon Chicken Wings were such a big hit, I decided to make an Asian Inspired Chicken Wing in my Instant Pot Pressure Cooker! Friday nights in my house is Chicken Wing night, so we have been creating flavors of wings.
We mostly enjoy the Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings for Friday Wing Night. My Instant Pot Buffalo Hot Wings recipe is hugely popular with the Instant Pot Community too!

- Try it the next time you stir fry!
- For an incredible steak, use my Air Fryer Rib Eye Steak recipe, but instead of the seasonings, brush the Honey Ginger sauce over the steak. OMG, you will not believe how delicious the steak will be!
For this recipe whole wings or wings which have already been cut into flats and drumettes can be used.
Prepare Chicken Wings
- I like to use kitchen shears and I recommend these Kitchen Shears By Clear Style.
- You can feel the cartilage between the joints. Use the kitchen shears to cut the wings into two part. Then just snip off the pointed tip.
- Check for any feathers and pull them out.
Pro Tip: I enjoy cooking the whole wing when air frying wings. Check out my Air Fryer Hamburger Hamlet Fried Chicken Wings & Secret Apricot Sauce recipe.
The Honey Ginger Chicken Wings can be enjoyed right from the pot. Many people like to crisp them up a bit.
There are a few ways to crisp the chicken skin with the Honey Ginger Sauce, so chose whichever method is best for you.
Crisping Up Instant Pot Honey Ginger Chicken Wings
- Whichever way you pick, make sure to use a basting brush and sauce up the wings.

GREAT recipe! I substituted the wings for a combination of both chicken breast and thighs. I cut them into equal bite sized pieces. It was super delicious! I shared it with a friend and they thought it was restaurant quality good.

Made this last night, didn’t have the black soy sauce, just added an extra tbsp of soy sauce. It came out fabulous, the sauce thickened up nicely while I broiled the chicken!

I’ve been sautéing the sauce in the IP for a long time now and it’s not getting thicker. Is it supposed to be really runny? I also tried increasing the heat to the normal level and while it’s bubbling it’s definitely not thickening. Did you add any cornstarch or anything?
Darla Crane says
Can mollasses be used instead of the black soy sauce? I have not been able to find the black soy
