Instant Pot Stuffing is an easy recipe made in the pressure cooker. It keeps you out of the kitchen, so that you can spend quality time with your loved ones.
It’s almost Thanksgiving! This holiday is all about family and friends.
Getting together, talking, drinking, eating and having a lot of fun. It’s the time of year for turkey and my Instant Pot Turkey & Homemade Gravy recipe is always great to start out your Thanksgiving menu!
After too many personal loses, I thought I would show you my super quick Instant Pot Stuffing Recipe made in the Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker.
In light of what has just happened, instead of posting that recipe today, I decided to do a very simple stuffing recipe instead. This Instant Pot Stuffing Recipe is dedicated to Claus Wagner Bartak. My very close and very loved friend, Claus, passed away early this morning.
I have regrets.
If you have people you love, please, make a point to see them soon. We were supposed to visit Claus and something came up. Sometimes it is okay to take short cuts and spend more time with family and friends.

Ingredients for Instant Pot Stuffing
- Stuffing Mix
- Turkey Base or Chicken Base
- Butter
- Celery
- Onion
The base for any stuffing is dried bread. It takes some time to dry your own bread, but really, a package of dried stuffing mix is much easier and just as good. You can always add your own touches to the stuffing. I added a section of yummy add ins below.
Normally, I baked a Sourdough Bread and a Cast Iron Cornbread and then I dry them out and toast them. It takes time. Just this one, forget about spending all day in the kitchen and try out this stuffing short cut. You will have more time with your family and friends and you know what? This easy Instant Pot Stuffing recipe is just as good as starting from fresh bread!
How to Make Easy Instant Pot Stuffing.
- Grab a bag or a box of Stuffing or even your favorite Croutons. They are already filled with buttery goodness and lots of seasonings.
- If your Croutons are the small cubes, you can leave them in tact.
- Toss the Stuffing into a Large Mixing Bowl.
Make sure to let your Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker heat up fully.
Softer Vegetables
- If you prefer softer veggies, you can start them out directly in the Instant Pot.
- Make sure not to let the onions burn to the bottom of the cooking pot.
Melt some buttah, baby!!!!!
This recipe will come together quickly and with very little effort.
Make it Easier and Skip the Sautéing Step
- If you don’t want to take the time to sauté the vegetables in your cooking pot, then simply skip this step!
- Your veggies will be firmer and a bit more predominant.
- All the ingredients can simply be added to your large Bowl and combined and then cooked in the pressure cooker.
Instant Pot Bone Broth or Turkey Base mixed with water is convenient.
I like to add a touch of Sage to my Stuffing. It’s optional, so if you do use it, remember, a little Sage, goes a long way.
Add Ins for Instant Pot Stuffing.
- Beaten Egg – adds fluffiness to the Instant Pot Stuffing, definitely recommended
- Chopped Apple
- Unsweetened Dried Cranberries
- Chopped Pecans, Walnuts or Almonds
- Mushrooms
- Crisp Bacon
- Chopped Roasted Chestnuts – my personal favorite add in
If there are other things you like in your Instant Pot Stuffing, just add it in. Remember, this recipe is very basic and a short cut, so anything you would like to add, just add it to the stuffing mix.
Tips and Tricks for Instant Pot Stuffing.
- Dice celery smaller than the onions. Onions cook and become soft very quickly, so dicing them larger than the celery will help to keep the vegetables nice and even.
- Use Turkey Broth as the cooking liquid. It seems so obvious, right? Mix up some Water with a little Better Than Bouillon Turkey Base and add it to the cooking pot.
- No need to cover the pan of stuffing and no need to worry about water getting into the pan, Because, we want the to get into the Casserole Dish!!
The hot Turkey Broth will infuse into the pan of Instant Pot Stuffing and keep it moist, while adding more flavor.
If you have the Trivet that came with your Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker, lower it in with the handles.
If not, this is a nice Trivet to use. You can always make your own Foil Sling to lower in the Casserole Dish.
That’s it. You can enjoy Instant Pot Stuffing for Thanksgiving as is, or you can brown the top.
It’s a matter of preference. Do you like stuffing cooked inside the Turkey or in the Oven? If you like it cooked inside the Turkey, you will love this Instant Pot Stuffing right out of the Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker.
If your preference is a drier Stuffing, then pop the Casserole Dish into the oven for a few minutes, after pressure cooking.
You are going to want to make a double batch of this stuffing for leftovers. It’s THAT good.
What to do with Leftover Instant Pot Stuffing.
- Make Air Fryer Turkey Croquettes.
- They are the perfect recipe for leftover Thanksgiving Instant Pot Stuffing and Instant Pot Turkey with Gravy.
- They only take a few minutes to prepare and then a short cook time in your Air Fryer.
You will want to make these croquettes all year round!
For a crispy top, use a Mealthy Crisplid to brown. To make sure the Stuffing doesn’t try out, use the Turkey Broth from the cooking pot and pour a little over the top of the stuffing.
- Mealthy CrispLid (buy from Mealthy) / Mealthy CrispLid (buy from Amazon)
Alternatively, place the Casserole Dish right into the Air Fryer. You can also pop it into the oven and cook it along side your turkey or other items.
You don’t need to brown the Stuffing though. It’s perfectly delicious right out of the Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker.
So, there you have it. This super simple, easy Instant Pot Stuffing recipe. Serve it in the same Casserole Dish it cooked in and save an oven transfer.
You can make this in advance and heat up, right before you eat. Your Thanksgiving meal is not complete without my Pressure Cooker Pumpkin Bourbon Cheesecake “Pake.”

Yes a corn bread recipe. My mother in law from SE MO,that passed, made the corn bread dressing. She gave my husband the recipe. This was it, 3 celery, 1 onion, some broth, jiffy corn bread mix, stove top, salt pepper and sage to taste. Told my husband, this is not a recipe, it is a grocery list. He said just make it as she said. I’m trying to peice together the recipe with jiffy corn bread mix. I think one box of stove top. I’m in a sort of a bind, have 2 sons and husband thinking I can pull this off.Thank you for your time, Cindy
Maybe your viewers may have a idea of a recipe. Thank you again, cindy

Hello, this is more of a question. My husbands mother passed and before she did she had gave my husband the recipe for her stuffing. He had came home with it and it said. 2 or 3 celery, a small onion, broth, jiffy mix, stove top, salt, pepper, and sage to taste. I told him thus is not a recipe it is a grocery list. I can’t make her dressing with this. I have been looking for a recipe like this for him and my sons, with no luck. If anyone can help, please send me a recipe, cindy

Can you make this without the casserole dish?
Anne says
I have been looking for a dish that will fit in my 8 quart Instant Pot Duo 80. Please tell me exactly what size casserole dish you are using. I see the link to Amazon, but you have two links and the other goes to something else. Please advise.
Jill says
Hi Anne. I am not sure which link you are talking about. The 1.5 qt Casserole Dish I link to works well in a six quart and larger. You can use the same dish, or the next size up. Jill
Nancy Wallacd says
Jill did you add an egg to the stuffing in the picture? It looks so good. And is the casserole dish made for the InstaPot? I have the six quart. What size dish would I use? Thanks in advance.

Any differences fin you want to use bread, and not a processed mix?

Hi Nancy. The process would be the same, after turning your bread into croutons. Jill
