Greek Tzatziki Sauce Recipe {Garlic Cucumber Yogurt Dip} is cool and creamy and a delicious sauce for Gyros, Vegetables, Pita Bread.
This Greek Tzatziki Sauce Recipe {Garlic Cucumber Yogurt Dip} is a super simple recipe. It’s cool and crisp and makes a great dipping sauce for Greek Pita Bread, Vegetables, Chips and Crackers. It is especially good on my Pressure Cooker Greek Lamb Beef Gyros.
Tzatziki Sauce is almost always made with Yogurt Cheese, Cucumber, Garlic and Dill Weed. Fresh Mint is sometimes added in as well.
English Cucumbers are very popular in the recipe. Greek Yogurt or Yogurt Cheese is the base for Tzatziki Sauce.
Use my Homemade Thick Greek Yogurt Recipe and make your own Extra Thick Yogurt.
If you would like to make your own Yogurt Cheese, try my Homemade Thick Greek Yogurt Recipe and strain it overnight to make your own Yogurt Cheese.
Slice the Cucumber and remove the Seeds and the Soft Center. This will help remove excess water in the Cucumber.
Rough chop the Cucumber and sprinkle with a little Kosher Salt. The Salt helps draw out the water.
Since we removed the Center, no need to let the Cucumber rest. Just put the chopped Cucumber in a Paper Towel and Squeeze out the water.
Dump the Yogurt Cheese into the Bowl of your Food Processor. Add the squeezed Cucumber, Dill Weed, Fresh Garlic, Salt and Pepper.
Add as many Fresh Mint Leaves as you like. Start with just one Clove of Garlic. You can always add more if you like a really strong Garlic taste.
I like to use True Lemon Crystallized Sprinkles, rather than Lemon Juice, to keep this Greek Tzatziki Sauce Recipe nice and thick.
Process until smooth and then give it a taste test. Adjust the seasonings and give it another whirl. Place in a covered container in the refrigerator.
