Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Wings are tender and deliciously seasoned. Less messy and perfect finger food for game day and gatherings. This recipe is perfect for people following Keto and Low Carb diets!
Chicken wings are so popular and it would be hard to find someone who does not love wings.
The comments on my Air Fryer Honey Garlic Wings have been overwhelming and wonderful and it is clear that more garlic chicken wing recipes are in demand. People are saying they are the best chicken wings they have ever had!
These Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Wings only have a few ingredients and pack a big punch. Using an air fryer for cooking chicken wings is one of the best foods to cook in the air fryer. The fat will render out from the skin, allowing the skin to crisp up really well. You will not miss a deep fryer at all.
Because they are marinated overnight, it is easy to meal prep in advance and then cook the next day or, when you are ready. This also makes it easy to freeze with the marinade and then cook whenever you are ready.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Chicken Wings
- Chicken Wings
- Ranch Dry Seasoning Mix – individual packages can be used, but it is more cost effective to buy the bulk container.
- Butter
- Fresh Minced Garlic – feel free to use as much garlic as you like.
If you have a jar of my Ginger Garlic Paste, you certainly can use a couple of Tablespoons for a different taste.
Can Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Wings Be Prepared in Advance?
- Yes, since the garlic ranch wings need a little time to marinate (although, the longer the better), the marinade can be mixed up with the wings the day before.
- The flavors of the marinade will penetrate the chicken wings and will plump the meat, so that the wings will be super juicy, yet crispy on the outside.
- Jarred or fresh garlic can be used. A mini food chopper makes quick work of mincing the garlic. If you love garlic, add as much as you like.
This Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Chicken Wing recipe is so perfect for game day and gatherings. Because of marinating the wings overnight and adding so much flavor, no dipping sauce is needed. The Garlic Ranch Wings will have a dry and crispy crunch, with a buttery, garlicky, ranch flavor with each bite.
Another great recipe for game day and gathering is Roasted Onion Garlic Hummus, which is easily made in an Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker. It can also be prepared in advance.
Can Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Wings Be Frozen?
- Yes, Garlic Ranch Chicken Wings can be frozen with the marinade.
- They are a recommended “Freezer Meal,” as the marinade can be mixed up and stored with the chicken wings and then placed into the freezer for later cooking.
- As the Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Chicken Wings need time to marinate, this is optimal and ideal.
Once the frozen wings are removed from the freezer and placed in the refrigerator to defrost, they will marinate at the same time.
Garlic Ranch Wings can also be frozen after they have been cooked and then warmed up in the air fryer for later.
This is a recipe where you will want to mix up a few batches of marinade and package it up with the wings to keep in the freezer.
Using an air tight container or Ziplock baggie is a great way to infuse flavor into the wings. For a intense infusion, try using a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealing System, as the wings will infuse quicker.
How to Cook Frozen Garlic Ranch Chicken Wings.
- If you own an Instant Pot, Ninja Foodi or Pressure Cooker, just add a cup of water to the cooking pot and put the wings into a steamer basket. Cook for 5 minutes and you will have hot and fresh wings.
- For cooking in the air fryer, I suggest letting the garlic ranch chicken wings defrost in the refrigerator and then air frying according to my instructions found below in the recipe card.
A tip about cooking wings from frozen in the air fryer.
- Blood will release and there will be dark spots.
- The meat tends to be a bit tough.
- I strongly suggest allowing the wings to thaw prior to cooking in an air fryer.
Tips and Tricks for Air Fryer Garlic Ranch Chicken Wings.
- Check to make sure there are no feathers on the chicken wings.
- After rinsing the wings, pat them dry.
- Let the butter cool after melting before mixing up the marinade.
- The longer they wings are marinaded in the garlic ranch sauce, the better they will taste.
Remember to make several batches and freeze for later. Since the wings are dry-ish and not slathered in sauce, it makes a great finger food for Game Day!

can these be put in crockpot to keep warm once cooked in airfryer
Wanda says
Love it! My new Air Fryer Wing recipe! Had to figure out time and temp for the Emeril 360. Otherwise, absolutely delicious. Eating it now ! 😊
Jill Selkowitz says
Hi Wanda. Glad you enjoyed my recipe. With timing, much of it is just watching and cooking to your desire. For wings, best to go higher in temp, than down, so that the skin cooks quickly. Jill
Paula Smith says
I’m sharing this on FB, but wondering if baking in a convection oven would be a possible alternative if you don’t have an air fryer – I’ll keep the temp the same and periodically check the internal temp of the chicken unless you have a better recommendation. Love your recipes and Amazon recommendations, btw!
Jill Selkowitz says
Hi Paula. I would raise the temp a bit and you may need to cook longer, but either way, it will come out terrific. Jill

I didn’t find the garlic ranch flavor to be very strong, but these wings were delicious and cooked perfectly. Hubby ate an entire pound himself

Thank you so much! Jill
Anne Rodkin says
Jill, if I wanted to use drumsticks, do you have a recommended time and temp? I have some in the freezer and would bet they’d be as awesome as the wings with this marinade.
Jill Selkowitz says
I would cook them for about 10 minutes more. Jill
RENEE MAMACH says
If I wanted to cook them in the oven, how long and what temperature?
Linde says
For people who have the Breville Smart Air or the Kitchenaid countertop oven, you’ll need to almost double the cooking time and they won’t be as brown as hers. They were pretty good, tho. I suspect a regular air fryer has a more enclosed space so that would make a difference. The 6 cloves of garlic soounded like a lot, but it was just right.
